I found this course very helpful and interesting. I came into the course feeling quite aware of mental health issues, but, as an awkward person, I felt that starting conversations was the hardest part for me. This course not only gave me the tools I needed to feel a bit braver in MH conversations, equipping me with better language and open questions to use, but it also expanded my understanding of mental health overall. Julia is the most incredible instructor, she is so exceptionally knowledgeable and has a true gift for sharing that knowledge. This course touches on some incredibly difficult topics, Julia manages to not only give the topics the gravity and respect they deserve but also make participants feel truly in a safe space. At no point did Julia ever make anyone feel uncomfortable or as if they were asking a silly question. Having completed the course four years ago I feel there has been an improvement regarding how it runs overall, as well as the content, which is both relevant and helpful. It is useful to learn specifics and then see how they can be applied to situations, always being reminded of ALGEE. Julia was a great instructor. She is friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and so clearly passionate about what she does. It is great to learn from someone like this as it feels easier and more comfortable to have the conversations that can at times be sensitive. Julia created an environment amongst the group that felt confidential and safe. This allowed people the freedom to speak up and not feel judged. Julia is a good listener, patient and overall ran the course very well. It was a really good experience from start to finish and I'm glad I got to meet her!

This was an insightful, eye opening, and very beneficial course that I strongly recommend, whether it be for the workplace or even just for family or friends. Julia was very understanding of my mental health concerns and offered adaptations, which I greatly appreciate. I am very grateful for all Julia has done for us. She has done such an excellent job with educating us about mental health first aid with her extensive knowledge on the subject. My experience with Julia was excellent, she was a brilliant teacher who cared about all of her trainees.

One of the very best courses I've ever done, I loved it. The mix of practical activities, videos and role plays made it really engaging and we regularly got to put our new skills into practice on each other, which was invaluable. The workbook is a fantastic resource for us to keep and refer back to. Julia created a safe and supportive environment in which we felt comfortable to share experiences and ask questions. There was plenty of time for discussions which was massively beneficial. As well as learning how to help others I learnt a lot about myself too, so it was great for personal development. Julia was a fantastic coach.

I loved the course. Especially the group discussions, exercises, very good educational videos. The course has made me rethink of what language is the most appropriate to use when dealing with people when they are struggling with their mental health. ALGEE is a really good method for defining simply what is the role and value of mental health first aiding.Last but not least, Julia is a great instructor, very kind and knowledgeable. And everyone in the group had interesting insights from their life on mental health topics.I also think that the skills that I have learnt in the course will help me in all of my relationships by improving my communication and listening skills.

Julia was a great trainer, the course was very well run, everyone was able to particpate as much as they felt comfortable, the content was great and I left feeling much more aware of the signs to watch for, how to handle situations and how to encourage them to get profressional support. Julia gave an engaging and thorough course with so many personal touches. I have learned so much with Julia. The course was enjoyable to do and any worries I had before was ended with the friendly approach from Julia.
